HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE
Few students of WWI aircraft can fail to be familiar with the AVRO 504 in her
various guises. She served for many years as a trainer with both the RFC and the
RAF, saw action as a night fighter and even continued to serve after WWI had ended.
Although the model depicted is more or less a standard 504, because of her length
of service and the variety of roles she fulfilled, minor alterations will provide
a lot of variety with this model. Omitting the front cockpit and replacing the
gravity tank with a Lewis gun gives you the night fighter, while the example could
have either the tank or the gun. For additional information on the Avro 504 please visit the AVRO 504 web site
